CoNet in Collaboration with Consortium Eliquo Huber.
At CoNet, we’re proud to be contributing to one of the Netherlands most forward-thinking sustainability projects….
HVC’s new sludge drying installation at Alkmaar.
This facility will process 231,000 tons of sewage sludge annually using waste heat from a nearby waste-to-energy plant, significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
The dried sludge is repurposed as sustainable fuel, helping heat 12,000 homes and generate green electricity.
Our role? Integrating all systems into a new Siemens PCS 7 environment, including:
- 6 Belt dryers (each with 15 sections!)
- Air purification systems
- Granulate transport, steam, hot water, and condensate systems
- Safety matrix and emergency power software
After nearly 4000+ hours of engineering we’re almost ready for commissioning.
Next up:
- Duplicating the first two dryers across the remaining four
- Final FATs
- Operator training
This project is a perfect example of how automation, energy recovering, and circular thinking can come together and drive real climate impact.
