At CoNet, each colleague brings unique value to the team.

In our #CoNetStory series, we showcase how our team members’ personal passions inspire their professional expertise.

”There’s no need to be afraid of failure, if you can search for the lessons in challenges. Everyone was a beginner once.”

Meet our system specialist Arash Roomi.
This is his #CoNetStory

Merging engineering precision with mindful presence

Arash’s career Arash’s career path is anything but linear. After earning a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s in Mechatronics in Italy and a Eng.D. at TU Eindhoven, he explored fields including autonomous vehicles, computer vision, AI, and robotics.

It was the satisfaction of creating tangible automation systems that impact daily operations which brought him back to industrial automation.

“During my bachelor’s degree, I programmed PLCs to save money for studying abroad. That hands-on work sparked a joy I hadn’t forgotten,” Arash recalls.

Since joining CoNet as a System Specialist, Arash has been applying that same curiosity to programming PCS7 and TIA Portal systems, serving as the bridge between client needs and technical solutions. His role demands precision, patience and communication, qualities that extend beyond his technical background.

Yoga: a discipline that extends beyond the mat

Outside of work, Arash is deeply passionate about yoga, a practice he’s taught for more than eight years. What began as a focus on physical strength has evolved into a journey
of mindfulness, breathwork, and mental clarity.

“Yoga taught me that progress isn’t about speed, it’s about showing up consistently, and that learning is a journey, not a race.’’

Bringing mindfulness into the office

When Arash discovered that CoNet offered kickboxing classes on Mondays, he suggested adding weekly yoga sessions for interested colleagues. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Now, every week, employees gather for a shared moment of calm and connection. This blend of passion and professional life reflects how Arash approaches both problem-solving and teamwork: with patience, awareness, and focus.

“Sharing yoga at work helps me and my colleagues slow down, focus, and connect. It’s amazing to see people step away from their screens and return with renewed clarity and energy.”

Lessons from yoga applied to automation

For Arash, the connection between yoga and automation is clear:

“Mindful presence keeps me fully engaged in each task, helping me tackle complex programming without distraction. Constructive communication, learned from giving yoga feedback, helps with interactions with clients and colleagues.

And when deadlines are high-pressure, pausing to breathe allows better decisions and more elegant solutions. Even under pressure, stepping back and focusing on the essentials lets you see solutions clearly.”

Arash’s advice

For those beginning their careers in automation or stepping onto a yoga mat for the first
time, Arash advice is:

“Be comfortable with who you are, embrace the process, and don’t hesitate to ask for help. See challenges as a chance to learn and improve. Sometimes the best answer is asking a colleague for help.”
