On July 21, CoNet colleagues had the privilege of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Utrecht. Together, we prepared a Mexican dinner for the families staying there, creating an evening filled with good food, meaningful conversations, and a strong sense of community.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families whose children are receiving hospital treatment. With private bedrooms and bathrooms, alongside shared spaces such as the kitchen, living room, garden, and playroom, the house offers families a place to rest, recharge, and find support close to their child’s bedside during an incredibly challenging time.
In addition to volunteering, CoNet also contributed through the donation of several “Nachtzoenen” (Night Kisses). A stay at the Ronald McDonald House costs โฌ90 per night. Families contribute โฌ15 themselves, while the remaining โฌ75 is funded through donations. By sponsoring a Nachtzoen, donors help ensure that families can stay close to their sick child when they need it most.
