The High-Voltage Protection Simulator allows us to conduct real-life tests on protections using current flows. With our state-of-the-art Test & Development Center, we are ushering in a new era of global high-voltage automation—one that prioritizes safety above all else.

For two decades, CoNet has proudly been the go-to Siemens specialist in Process Automation and Factory Automation. Now, we have extended our expertise to the Energy field. Siemens Siprotec devices, which safeguard, automate, measure, and monitor high-voltage and medium-voltage networks, have been developed for this market. Previously, safety tests were performed using the Omicron program. However, up until now, automated high-voltage networks were programmed and tested on-site, exposing personnel to potential safety risks. Furthermore, there is a scarcity of specialized professionals in this domain.
Innovation Born out of Necessity
At CoNet, we pondered over a crucial question: how can we safely test high-voltage protections if we engineer and configure them? Wouldn’t it be incredible if we could replicate high-voltage environments? We envisioned a device that would allow physical testing without endangering individuals or disrupting the high-voltage field. Unfortunately, such sophisticated equipment did not exist. Nevertheless, at CoNet, we never shy away from a challenge. If something is missing, we create it ourselves.
Introducing the Test & Development Cabinet
In September, CoNet proudly unveiled the Test & Development Cabinet at our Zaandam location. Developed in collaboration with Siemens, this cabinet empowers us to replicate virtually any high-voltage environment, from wind farms to power grids, industrial areas, and even standalone factories. With this versatile cabinet, we can configure, program, and thoroughly test high-voltage protections. By simulating real-life scenarios, we can install and program security measures. Subsequently, we engage in extensive development and testing, ensuring that the protections perform flawlessly in the face of incorrect switching, malfunctions, or unsafe situations.
Comprehensive Expertise and Support
In addition to our advanced Test & Development Center, we possess the necessary software and a team of dedicated specialists. Our Energy engineers are unparalleled in their field, having successfully completed all Siemens Energy Technology training programs. Notably, they have undergone the rigorous Installation Responsible/Work Responsible High Voltage (IV/WV) course at Siemens. The IV focuses on the operational aspects of installations, while the WV ensures safety during switching and maintenance activities.
